Eh, not the first time the Wotch community has experienced a lost of information. Atleast it isn’t as massive as the three… four…. forum resets in the past? Atleast it sounds comments made in the past will be kept, just not the new ones we’re making now 😛
So, the new host seems to be having an issue with this install of WordPress. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re on an older version or that they require certain plugins to work properly. If i’m not able to get the site working soon the move will be off and I’ll be searching for a new host.
I have a small TG-friendly hosting company, Robin. Un fortunately, we are in the middle of moving our servers to a new colo but if this is not solved by mid October, login to my website below and ask Erin or Piper about it.
I don’t mean to curb your enthusiasm but to expect any kind of feed back from the Wotch staff is like trying to squeeze water from a stone you’re not going to get any.
Basically all I can say is just check once in a while but keep your expectations low like 6 feet under low if you catch my drift .
It could be any number of things from Real Life Interfering to building a buffer before going online, to… well, you get the idea. I’m sure one of those things, however, is NOT “mess with the fans”.
i am concerned that with the site being down so long. and no official word or weekly posting that some has gone terribly wrong and that this site may lose readership
Well, it went down for years and we returned. I’m not that worried about the readership, but I AM worried about something having gone wrong. I hope everyone in the team is fine.
I suspect it’s been “back-burnered” in the way that sometimes happens to projects when the creators have real-life concerns (job, school, starting a family) that take priority. Then after a while of dormancy, it’s difficult for the project to get momentum back, especially if the reason for the hiatus was not just “Life” but some frustrating situation (such as a server move falling through) that caused them to “step back and take a breath”. But that frustration is the first thing they must address to start back up, and that can cause some people to subconsciously avoid getting back to it.
I’m used to being ephemeral. Have a good move

I hope everything goes smoothly! See you on the next server!
Good luck, I know what it’s like to move servers! I’m sure you’ll do better than I did.
so where’s the new site? I’m not against it, just curious.

I have found an elegant proof that P = NP, but this comment field is too small to contain it.
Then it’s not elegant enough. 😛
… Well played.
P=NP=MLP
I’ve been “here” since 2004 (Or 2002; it may have been 2002.) Anyway, any place The Wotch is will be “here”.
I await the change with unbated breath. 😉
You’ll never catch largemouth bass that way.
Baited hook, unbated breath. Don’t bait the unbated, lest unabated puns be unleashed.
All the bass I’ve smooched would disagree.
Hope the move is going well!
I hope so too. There seem to have been several complications. I hope everything’s sorted out soon.
a progress report would appricated
And gratefully received. I like this webcomic.
happy new year to all the wotchers.
How long does it take to transfer a server host? It’s been 4 months.

Technical difficulties. Or the computer gods must be placated.

I hope everything’s going well with the team aside from the server issues, which I also hope they can sort out soon.

If that’s the case, I hope they can get back on track soon. It would be great to see this comic up and running again!
