Bingereading from even further into the future here. I read something about commentary a while ago, but there doesn’t seem to be any. Did it get get lost somehow?

Binge-RE-reader here, just a few weeks in your future. I originally started reading back in 2005 (when “Consequences” was the current story) and stopped during the hiatus in 2009-2011 (in the middle of “Most Most Dangerous Game”). I stopped reading webcomics completely not long thereafter, because half the ones I was following weren’t updating regularly anymore, and I just didn’t have time to keep up with the others. Now I’m playing catch-up on the ones that actually matter to me that are still going. (I guess you can call one update a month “still going”.) Caught up on El Goonish Shive last week, and this one was second on my list.

Regarding commentary: Yes, the comics used to have commentary, prior to the aforementioned hiatus. Best as I can gather, when Ian Samson took over as the artist, the site migrated to a new host, and while the comic archives were transferred, the commentary was not. I don’t know if this was by choice or by necessity—WordPress-based platforms can be *very* picky about migrating content. (It’s almost as if the people developing the WP plugins never look at what other similar sites do. The omissions in features and functionality sometimes are jaw-dropping.)
